Job Description Sr. Network Security Engineer
Position Reports To: Sr. Manager Network Security
Business Unit: IT
Basic Purpose Provide advanced level technical support for designing, maintaining, and optimizing global network security systems. Create and enforce global network security standards, guidelines, and procedures. Implement secure network architectures and solutions. Perform technology and operational risk assessments, identifying control gaps and risky or problematic configurations. Work with stakeholders to drive remediation of security issues. Promote security awareness and advise on secure operational practices across IT and the organization.
Requirements and Skills
Expert - securing & managing Palo Alto Firewalls & Prisma Access
Expert - network security standards, methodologies, and best practices
Expert - knowledge of network-based vulnerabilities, threats, and risks
Understanding of networking protocols and services
Advanced knowledge of network access control (NAC) solutions and methodologies
5+ years experience in network security operations and design
Nice to have proficiencies
Forescout network access control
Web Application Firewall (F5 and/or Cloudflare)
Secure routing & switching
Scripting, automation & orchestration
Threat Hunting
Cisco ISE / RADIUS authentication
Data center segmentation technologies
Network authentication methodologies (PSK, certificates, SAML, etc.)
Competencies
Security mindset, well versed in general security principles and best practices.
Ability to communicate in English clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
Professional security certifications are a plus (CISSP, GIAC, CEH, etc.)
Ability to work within a team and with limited direction and guidance.
Strong analytical, organizational, troubleshooting and time management skills.
Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Other Information Mandatory Skills: Palo Alto Networks - Firewalls.
