The Senior Data Scientist leads the design, development, and implementation of data-driven solutions that support strategic decision-making and mission objectives. This role works closely with stakeholders, engineers, and analysts to translate complex data into actionable insights, leveraging advanced statistical, machine learning, and cloud-based analytical techniques.
Key Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of data science projects - from data collection and exploration to model development, evaluation, and deployment. Design and implement predictive models, NLP solutions, and advanced analytics to solve business and operational problems. Work with large, complex datasets from multiple sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and security. Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate data science solutions into production systems (cloud or on-prem). Mentor junior data scientists and analysts, providing technical guidance and peer reviews. Present findings and visualizations to technical and non-technical audiences. Stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and research in AI/ML and data science. Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred). 5+ years of hands-on experience applying machine learning and statistical modeling to real-world problems. Proficiency in
Python ,
R , or
Scala
and strong knowledge of data science libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Pandas, NumPy). Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and data tools (Spark, Databricks, Airflow). Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational and NoSQL databases. Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences. Active security clearance or eligibility to obtain one (for government contracts) preferred.
