We are seeking an experienced Senior Safety Manager to champion this commitment across our electrical construction projects nationwide. This role is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs that protect our people and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards. The Senior Safety Manager will play a critical leadership role in fostering a proactive safety culture, partnering with field operations, and ensuring safe execution across all phases of construction. Based out of Boston, MA, this position requires relocation to the Boston area and weekly travel to project sites across the United States. The role maintains a strong field presence, supporting project teams including staff, craft employees, subcontractors, and consultants.

Location This position is based in Boston, MA, with relocation required for candidates not currently located in the area. In alignment with Kiewit's "go where the work is" philosophy, this role requires consistent weekly travel to project sites nationwide to support field operations and safety performance.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, federal/state requirements, and Kiewit safety standards
- Partner closely with field operations and craft employees to promote engagement, accountability, and ownership of safety practices
- Exercise Stop Work Authority when necessary to ensure safe working conditions
- Analyze leading indicators and upcoming work activities to proactively identify and mitigate risk
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments, ensuring timely corrective actions
- Lead investigations of incidents, near misses, and accidents; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective measures
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all safety incidents in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
- Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and emergency response services
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate safety performance and drive continuous improvement
- Provide clear and timely safety reporting to project and senior leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 8+ years of construction safety management experience
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and industry best practices
- Demonstrated ability to influence field leadership and drive a strong safety culture
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
- Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic construction setting
Physical and Work Requirements
- Ability to access all areas of active construction sites in varying climates and conditions
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, speak, and hear; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to work extended hours, including overtime and weekends, as needed
- Ability and willingness to travel weekly to job sites across the U.S.
- Relocation to Boston, MA is required
Base Compensation: $150,000/yr - $190,000/yr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
