This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business and lead the site's engineering and maintenance function.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of production equipment through the effective management of planned, preventative and reactive maintenance.
You will lead the engineering team, drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage budgets and resources, and work closely with operations to maximise plant reliability, minimise downtime and support overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the day-to-day engineering and maintenance function.
Plan, coordinate and oversee preventative, planned and reactive maintenance activities.
Develop maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
Lead, coach and develop the engineering team to achieve operational objectives.
Monitor engineering KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage engineering budgets, maintenance costs and contractor performance.
Ensure compliance with health and safety, quality and environmental standards.
Coordinate engineering resources to support production with minimal disruption.
Manage engineering stores and spare parts to ensure critical stock availability.
Support the planning and delivery of capital investment and site improvement projects.
Maintain accurate engineering documentation and maintenance records.
Work collaboratively with production, operations and senior management to drive site performance.
Candidate Requirements The ideal candidate will have: A recognised qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering, or a completed engineering apprenticeship.
At least 5 years' experience in an Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager or similar leadership role within manufacturing.
Proven experience leading and developing engineering teams.
Strong knowledge of planned and preventative maintenance systems.
Experience managing engineering budgets, contractors and capital projects.
Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
A proactive approach with strong organisational and decision-making abilities.
Good IT skills, including experience using CMMS and Microsoft Office.
Desirable Experience Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG or another regulated manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement or TPM methodologies.
Experience managing site utilities and engineering projects.
Familiarity with quality, health and safety and environmental management systems.
