Organizational Overview CSA Distributing is the distribution arm of Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project. Founded in 2012, CSA is an emerging Colorado distribution company that represents an ever‑growing portfolio of the best International and American breweries, cideries, wineries, distilleries and food producers. CSA’s connection to the artisans themselves is as important as the connection to the customers who buy and sell each product.
Position Overview The CSA Sales Manager is responsible for effectively managing the sales team across all channels of sales, developing sales goals, and coordinating with brand and marketing to maximize sales of supplier brands in all accounts through the building of strong relationships with key decision makers and effective planning, selling, merchandising and communication.
Reporting Relationships This position reports to the General Manager and will work closely with the Brand Managers and Operations Team.
Sales Manager Roles and Responsibilities
Hold monthly in person 1 on 1 or virtual/phone check‑ins with salesmen to discuss market hurdles, goals, updates, and general well‑being.
Develop, train and direct sales reps to achieve sales goals and placement objectives and to ensure company standards are met.
Identify skill deficiencies of sales representatives and develop customized coaching plans, track progress, and record improvement.
Hold the sales team accountable to basic job functions and responsibilities and administer disciplinary action when needed.
Set individual sales goals (monthly, quarterly, and/or yearly) with all salesmen and help establish monthly PFP goals with Brand Managers.
Serve as the first point of contact for the sales team and assist in building sales dashboards and reporting tools for the team.
Maintain relationships with top 10–20 on and off premise accounts by visiting each monthly and performing customer business review with key decision makers.
Lead bi‑weekly sales meetings and help coordinate tastings to include but not limited to current sales/distribution volumes and trends, salesmanship training, and skill set improvement.
Resolve customer issues by following company policies and escalating issues to management as appropriate.
Perform in‑market ride‑alongs with suppliers as needed.
Heavily participate and take lead in the hiring and training of all new sales reps as well as evaluating territory shifts between sales reps.
Continually evaluate the sales team compensation model, bonus structure, and expense budget.
Work with General Manager and Brand Managers in monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales forecasts and goals.
Participate in Annual Business Plan meetings with suppliers, and work with Brand Managers to develop sales plans for new and existing suppliers.

Important Skills and Abilities
Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and nonverbal communications with an emphasis on replying timely to all internal and external communication.
Ability to build trusting relationships quickly and maintain them with decision makers and category makers of the accounts.
Strong analytical knowledge and ability to forecast sales and set measurable and attainable goals for the sales team.
Strong working knowledge of computer software including Internet, Microsoft Office, Inventory software, and Automation systems. Must be comfortable working with emerging technologies.
Ability to positively represent the organization during workdays, as well as outside of work at industry events.
Strong troubleshooting skills, strong work ethic and be able to work within a team and independently with a great attitude.
Qualification Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study preferred.
3+ years in sales or sales‑related field.
2+ years experience leading a sales team.
Previous experience in beverage distribution preferred.
Experience with sales reporting, dashboard building, goal setting is a must (Encompass experience preferred).
Love and passion for craft beverages and food a must!
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Salary & Benefits Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 annually (base salary plus bonus/commission). Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k) with match, paid time off, and paid beer. Crooked Stave Artisans is an equal opportunity employer.
