Mountain Cement Company, a subsidiary of Eagle Materials, is seeking an experienced Terminal Manager in LaSalle, CO, Be a part of the LaSalle team supporting the newest cement plant in the United States. Overview: The Terminal Manager is responsible for supervising the receiving and unloading of bulk cement rail cars, as well as loading of bulk cement trucks. Basic qualifications the Terminal Manager must possess include:

  1. Have a working knowledge of the ability to learn shipping operations and material flows.
  2. Must be able to perform basic mathematics with accuracy.
  3. A strong mechanical aptitude.
  4. Leadership; must lead by example, be a good negotiator, and team builder.
  5. Integrity and ethical behavior beyond reproach.
  6. Must possess good communication skills; writing, speaking, listening, etc.
  7. Proficiency in establishing goals that are clear, well-defined, and measurable. Must be able to communicate these objectives clearly to others and provide feedback/appraisals to ascertain if the objectives are being met.
  8. Must possess good decision-making skills based upon the ability to accurately identify problems, collect relevant information/data, and generate cost-effective solutions.
  9. Must be capable of handling stress associated with job duties, deadlines, and all personnel interactions.
  10. Capable of maintaining appropriate and constructive responses under all circumstances.
  11. Must be able to work with the public in person and over the telephone in efficient and courteous manner.
  12. Knowledge of safe and productive operation of mobile equipment.
  13. Must be physically fit.

Responsibilities: The responsibilities of a Terminal Manager include but are not limited to:

  1. Safety inspections of all working areas shall be performed a minimum of once per shift. Additional inspections may be performed as conditions warrant.
  2. Responsible for keeping costs in line with budgets and being alert for ways of reducing costs of operations, maintenance, and repairs.
  3. Keep equipment and machinery regularly maintained per set scheduled.
  4. Keep informed as to the amounts of cement in bins and rail cars, notifying producing plant and sales office of impending shortages.
  5. Recommend and arrange shipping schedules to meet customer requirements.
  6. Problem solving including the ability to identify problems, development of corrective actions, delegating responsibility of performance of actions to subordinates, and holding subordinates accountable for job/task performance.
  7. Clear communication of priorities/goals/objectives to all production department employees to provide definitive direction.
  8. Performs other work as directed.

Education & Experience: Required:

  1. High school diploma of equivalent.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role.

Preferred:

  1. Experience working in industrial environment.

Physical Requirements: The Terminal Manager position is safety sensitive. The physical requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Working 8 hour - 12 hour shifts.
  • Working in areas of heat, cold, muddy, icy, or dusty conditions for extended periods of time.
  • Subject to twisting, bending, stooping, lifting, and climbing.
  • Access silos via elevator and stairway up sever flights of stairs several times per day or via a 200FT tall ladder.
  • Travel routes may include stairs, catwalks, ladders, elevated walkways, and uneven floors.
  • May be subject to lifting up to 95lbs.
