Are you an engineering professional with a passion for solving technical challenges and supporting customers? We're looking for a Sales Engineer to join a growing technical team, where you'll play a key role in introducing new products, supporting sales activity, and ensuring customers receive innovative, high-quality engineering solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong engineering background who enjoys working across multiple departments, engaging with customers and suppliers, and acting as a trusted technical expert.
The Role
As Sales Engineer, you'll be responsible for supporting the introduction and approval of new engineering products while providing technical expertise to both internal teams and customers. You'll work closely with Sales, Supply Chain, Quality and Sourcing to ensure products meet customer requirements and are delivered efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the new product introduction process from enquiry through to approval.
* Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
* Coordinate cross-functional technical reviews and ensure project milestones are achieved.
* Support the sample approval process, including product testing and technical analysis.
* Assist with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), including contract reviews and feasibility studies.
* Investigate and resolve technical product queries relating to customer RFQs.
* Compile technical documentation to support product approvals and customer requirements.
* Provide technical support to the Sales team during customer enquiries and project discussions.
* Act as the business's technical product expert, providing guidance across departments.
* Maintain accurate product and engineering data within company systems.
* Liaise with customers and suppliers to resolve technical issues and improve product quality.
* Support customer visits and help strengthen long-term business relationships.
* Identify opportunities for product standardisation, cost reduction and value engineering.
* Deliver technical training and share product knowledge across the business where required.
* Identify opportunities to increase sales through technical product recommendations and upselling.
What We're Looking For
* Engineering qualification or relevant engineering experience.
* Good understanding of engineering materials including steel and stainless steel.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
* Knowledge of international engineering standards such as ISO, EN, DIN and ASTM.
* Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments while managing competing priorities.

Benefits
Salary: £35,000 – 40,000 per annum
Monthly bonus scheme (up to 12% of basic salary)
24 days holiday plus bank holidays
