A Product Manager for Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) software bridges the gap between complex legal workflows and technical development. This role requires balancing the needs of legal, sales, and procurement teams with scalable software architecture.

Core Responsibilities
  • Strategic Roadmap Management: Define the multi-year vision for CLM modules, including automated intake, redlining, digital signatures, and post-signature obligation tracking.
  • Feature Prioritization: Translate high-level business goals (e.g., "reduce time-to-contract") into detailed technical user stories and prioritized backlogs for engineering teams.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the "voice of the user" for internal legal departments and external clients to ensure the software solves real-world pain points like version control and compliance risks.
  • AI & Automation Integration: Oversee the implementation of AI-driven capabilities, such as automated clause extraction, risk scoring, and generative AI for contract drafting.
  • Integration Oversight: Work with technical leads to design API integrations between the CLM and enterprise systems like CRM, ERP, and Data Warehouse.
  • Product Lifecycle Ownership: Manage the end-to-end development cycle from initial feasibility research and prototyping to beta testing and final launch.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of legal operations, procurement processes, and industry-standard CLM platforms like Apptus, certis, Ironclad, or DocuSign CLM.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to engage in technical discussions regarding API architecture (REST/SOAP), data mapping, and cloud-based SaaS delivery.
  • Agile Leadership: Proven experience leading cross-functional teams using Scrum or Kanban frameworks.
  • Analytical Thinking: Skilled in using data to track product KPIs, such as user adoption rates and system performance metrics.

Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with global regulations affecting legal data, including GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
