The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting the safety and compliance efforts of Haas, Inc. by promoting a safe work environment for employees, customers, and company property. This position assists with safety training, regulatory compliance, incident investigations, safety audits, and recordkeeping while helping maintain company safety programs and policies. The Safety Coordinator works closely with employees, supervisors, managers, and the Safety Director to identify and address safety concerns, support injury management and claims processes, and promote a culture of safety throughout all company operations. This position also oversees the company CDL program and plays a key role in developing, improving, and delivering training programs across all divisions. This position reports directly to the Safety Director. Primary Responsibilities:
Support compliance with all applicable OSHA, MSHA, DOT/FMCSA, and other regulatory requirements by maintaining current knowledge of regulations and assisting with policy updates as needed.
Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of company safety policies, procedures, and programs.
Conduct safety investigations and assist with accident tracking related to employee injuries, vehicle accidents, property damage incidents, near misses, and other safety-related events.
Review accident reports, injury documentation, photographs, videos, and other supporting information to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Conduct safety audits, inspections, and observations to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Facilitate and coordinate new employee safety orientation programs and ensure required training is completed prior to employees working independently.
Assist with developing, scheduling, and delivering safety training programs for employees, supervisors, and management.
Conduct monthly supervisor safety training and provide ongoing education regarding safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate safety records, training documentation, incident reports, audit findings, and compliance-related files.
Meet with employees to address safety concerns, answer questions, investigate complaints, and promote positive employee relations regarding workplace safety.
Assist injured employees by evaluating injuries, administering basic first aid when appropriate, and coordinating transportation to medical facilities when necessary.
Work closely with the Safety Director to review injury claims, investigate incidents, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.
Support workers' compensation processes by assisting with injury reporting, documentation, follow-up communication, and return-to-work coordination as directed.
Promote a positive safety culture by encouraging employee participation in safety initiatives and reinforcing safe work practices.
Demonstrate the Company's Core Values and Growth Values in the performance of all job duties.
Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and strong communication when handling sensitive employee and company information.
Assist with additional safety, compliance, training, and administrative duties as assigned, including supporting SDS (Safety Data Sheet) compliance and maintaining updated chemical safety records.
Position Requirements Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or administrative certification preferred. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Management, Environmental Health, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered. Minimum six (6) months of experience in construction, transportation, manufacturing, or industrial safety required. First Aid, CPR, and AED certification required or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment. Working knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT/FMCSA, and applicable workplace safety regulations. Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and accurate records when handling sensitive information. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Excel, and Word. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
