Über
Manage project preconstruction activities of several commercial construction projects with varying complexity and size while building relationships and maintaining H-E-B standards.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects of medium to large complexity
- Supervise projects through the Preconstruction Phase including planning, initiation, coordination, close out activities, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and schedule improvements while partnering with internal and external stakeholders
- Develop and manage project-specific Bidding strategies
- Manage bidder communications, Pre-Bid meetings, Site walks, and bid RFI processes
- Perform detailed scope, pricing and qualification analysis of the bids
- Manage bid reviews, adherence to project plans, schedule phasing while analyzing performance and providing feedback
- Evaluate and ensure accuracy of project information, documentation, schedules, contracting/invoicing and correspondence
- Assist with onboarding and continuing development of construction partners (newer or less experienced) through systems trainings and site walks
Career individual contributor in a professional role. Works independently, receiving general instructions on new assignments, and a review of outcomes for technical soundness. Possesses complete knowledge of role. Applies a broad range of theories, concepts, principles, and methodologies to assignments containing some elements of complexity. Majority of work is spent both independently planning and completing the design, implementation, and/or delivery of processes, programs, and/or policies. May coach, direct, oversee, or review the work of lower-level professionals. Networks with more senior internal and external stakeholders who may be unfamiliar with the area of specialty.
- Bachelor's degree or additional role-relevant experience. 5+ years of relevant experience preferred.
- Architecture, engineering, construction/project management, or related field, comparable formal training, or work experience
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and building codes
- Experience reviewing, qualifying, negotiating and awarding contracts
- Strong PC skills specifically around industry related software (MS suite, project management applications, plan review tools, etc.)
- Strong organizational, analytical, time management and decision-making skills
- Strong verbal / written communication, and interpersonal / collaboration skills
- Strong troubleshooting, risk management and problem-solving skills
- Related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or experience.
Function in a fast-paced, office environment
- Travel by car or plane with overnight stays
