Job Description A Mobile Inspector II functions as a member of the Manheim mobile inspections team for a designated region with the primary responsibility of conducting vehicle condition inspections on a client’s lot. The core skill is to provide accurate and complete documentation of overall vehicle condition within the parameters of a Manheim inspection. The position builds trust with clients, engages them to see the value in the Manheim Marketplace, and requests additional inventory to be inspected by providing quality and timely inspections. As a Mobile Inspector II, tasks are performed with minimal guidance while demonstrating growing independence and problem‑solving skills. The inspector will report to 63 Western Ave, Framingham, MA 01702.

What You’ll Do
Conduct thorough vehicle inspections
Locate, start, move, inspect, and return vehicles on dealer/clients’ lots safely
Verify vehicle identification and enter accurate vehicle information into the inspection system, correcting VIN, mileage, and sub‑series as needed
Inspect vehicle equipment and options, documenting damage, missing or inoperable items
Record vehicle exterior condition, including tires, frame, glass, panels, and mechanical components
Record vehicle interior condition, including seats, dashboard, and options
Perform basic mechanical checks on vehicles, including powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components
Prepare and provide daily activity reports for management
Adapt to changes in daily appointments to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of each dealer visit
Develop strong knowledge of clients in the territory and work with partners to keep them engaged on Manheim mobile inspections through regular, proactive on‑lot engagement
Leverage partner data and insights to maximize volume of units inspected on dealer lots
Represent Cox Automotive as a brand ambassador and provide premier client experience by interfacing regularly with core clients and ensuring satisfaction
Act as a solid team player, working closely with the Wholesale Specialist team, peers, other Manheim workgroups, and auctions
Utilize Salesforce.com for reporting, lead input, and customer performance reviews
Understand the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy
Work in a continuous improvement/Lean environment and be encouraged to drive a lean culture
Maintain production expectations set by leadership
Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling related behaviors; participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Generally less than 2 years of experience in a related field
Valid driver’s license; safe driver required
Excellent time‑management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize daily responsibilities
Highly detail‑oriented, focused, organized, and able to maintain energy and enthusiasm in demanding environments
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to build positive working relationships
Preferred Qualifications
General knowledge of automotive components (training provided)
Automotive estimating or repair experience
Technical automotive training (ASE, I‑CAR, etc.)
Basic computer proficiency, including email, uploads/downloads, and internet‑based applications
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to research, interpret, and apply secondary data appropriately
Physical Requirements & Work Conditions
Meet all physical criteria required to complete vehicle inspection routines
Regular bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 25 lbs.), walking, standing, and climbing railcar and ship ladders
Work outdoors year‑round (heat, rain, cold, snow, etc.)
Work extended hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
Compensation Hourly pay rate ranges from $16.83 to $25.29 per hour, potentially varying based on location and candidate experience. The role is also eligible for an annual incentive/commission target of $6,000.00.
Paid Time Off Employees are eligible for a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Additional paid time off is available in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
