Assists in the delivery of direct patient care under the oversight of a Registered Nurse and/or licensed medical practitioner and receives written and/or oral assignments and direction
Obtains labs or procedure results, if not in chart, vital signs, chief complaint, reason for visit, allergies, current phone number and family list
Documents patient care activities and patient data accurately using appropriate documentation forms and/or information systems
Ensures exam rooms are clean which includes cleaning surgical equipment, preparing for delivery to central supply and disinfecting all patient contact equipment
Performs required skills such as, but not limited to, vital sign measurement, aseptic technique, non-invasive specimen collection, spirometry, hearing testing, vision testing and EKGs, etc
Observes patients carefully for significant changes and alerts RN and/or Practitioner immediately as appropriate
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements. Job Requirements Required
One year experience in a outpatient medical office or physician clinic setting
Basic Life Support - BLS through an American Heart Association provider
Preferred
Associates related field and Two years experience in a clinical setting
Medical Assistant Certification: CA
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
Cert Med Asst - MMCI
Certified Medical Assistant AAMA
Certified Medical Assistant NHA,
National Certified Medical Assistant NCCT
