We are currently looking for a Full Time OB CNA/Clerk to join our OB Team team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center. Summary: Primarily provides clerical support to the professional staff and may provide basic nursing services as needed. Responsibilities: * Performs Certified Nurse Assistant duties as assigned - Takes direction from charge nurse and primary nurse - Takes and records vital signs and reports abnormal results to the primary nurse - Performs finger stick blood sugars and reports to primary nurse - Assists patients with personal hygiene activities - Assists patients with meals and toileting - Assists patients with ambulation and bedside commode - Lifts and turns patients as ordered - Prepares room and bed for patients - Strips bed and cleans equipment from room upon discharge of patient - Responsible for cleaning dirty equipment and bedside commode after patient use * Records care given and reports patient care observations * Maintains and documents intake and output * Prepares shift reports * Performs general duties including typing, filing, data entry, phone, and office reception as needed * Answers the phone, transfers call, takes messages and screens calls per guidelines for areas served * Performs supportive tasks related to patient care e.g., referrals to other agencies or departments when indicated, charts vital signs and other patient care data, and coordinates the transportation of patients to other healthcare facilities * Prepares patient records both prior to and upon patient arrival and assists with creating of visits in EHR/RPMS for triage patients * Prepares laboratory, X-ray requests, and diet sheet orders in accordance with provider orders and facility protocol * Schedules prescribed follow-up appointments and completes prescribed lab, X-ray, and other service requests * Transports lab specimens to laboratory when necessary * Transports patients via wheelchair for discharge or to imaging as needed * Orders and maintains levels of supplies, equipment, and forms * Ensures unit coverage for meals and breaks * Performs hourly rounds and updates white board as needed * Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency * Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities * Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types - Maintains a clean, organized work area and ensures a safe environment - Maintains and promotes professionalism - Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics - Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards * Maintains knowledge of and follows all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines for assigned area * Performs all other duties as assigned Competencies: Essential: * Able to follow instructions, both written and oral * Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements * Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability * Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines * Possess basic knowledge of medical terminology * Knowledge of relevant privacy regulations such as The Privacy Act, Freedom of Information Act and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) * Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management * Writes effective communications with team, departments, guests and management Skills: Essential: * Basic Computer skills Experience: Essential: * No prior experience required Education: Essential: * High School, GED or Equivalent * Completed an approved CNA training program Credentials: Essential: * Pass general background check * Basic Life Support (BLS) * Certified Nurse Assistant Working Conditions: Essential: * Works in a hospital or clinic environment * Computers, printers, phones * Potential exposure to biohazards * Potential exposure to contagious diseases * May be required to assist individuals with unmanaged emotions * Interacts with patients in difficult and/or emergency situations * Pass pre-employment drug test * Frequently bend, kneel, stoop, push, reach * Use computer up to 25% of shift * Frequently assist with lifting patients * Sometimes lift and or carry up to 50 lbs * Standing up to 100% of shift * Walking up to 100% of shift Training *It is the responsibility of each employee to attend required training for their position or profession as determined by their line of support (LOS) or the leadership of the Chickasaw Nation.
