This is a full-time nights opportunityBargaining Unit: EAP Rate of Pay: $53.48/hour + DOE Summary Performs all duties of the Staff Radiologic position with additional responsibilities for being competent in CAT scan, Special Procedures and Surgical Imaging Procedures. Under the general supervision of the Radiologist, conducts daily operations of the CAT scan and/or Special Procedures Department to include venipuncture for contrast injections. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperates x-ray equipment to produce diagnostic radiographs of designated anatomy according to established department exam protocols. Transports patients as necessary. Selects proper technical factors on individual basis according to established department guidelines. Process digital images. Recognizes and resolves equipment operations, problems and discrepancies. Provides radiation protection to self and patients. Manages daily CT operations under general supervision of the Radiologist. Performs patient positioning, image acquisition, and ensures high-quality CT imaging. Monitors radiation dose and safety protocols during scans. Performs IV access and venipuncture for contrast-enhanced CT and special procedures. Prepares and administers contrast agents per Radiologist orders. Review patient history/labs, assess contraindications. Monitors patient response, identifies adverse reactions, and responds appropriately. Ability to function and remain calm under multiple direction and/or fluctuations of work volume. Ability to handle a high patient volume in a high-pressure department with constantly changing priorities Demonstrates competency in Special Procedures, such as interventional angiography, CT-guided biopsies, fluoroscopic-guided biopsies, arthrography, and other contrast-enhanced diagnostic studies. Assists radiologists during complex or emergent procedures. Sets up, operates, and maintains special procedure equipment, ensuring strict aseptic and radiological safety standards. Record procedure details, supply usage, and billing information. Provides intra-operative imaging support in surgical settings (OR/IR), including mobile fluoroscopy (C-arm). Collaborates with Radiologists, Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, and OR staff to optimize imaging protocols and workflow. Ensures timely delivery of high-quality intra-operative images while prioritizing safety. Maintains order and cleanliness. Secures and returns supplies. Act as a preceptor for new staff; provide in-service training and guidance. Participates in departmental growth and development. Able to adapt to new programs and equipment upgrades as the radiological field advances. Ability to work standby and variable shifts. Implements and maintains departmental policies in line with hospital, state, and federal regulations Participates in QA initiatives to evaluate image quality, radiation safety, and procedural compliance. Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior. Complies with System policies and procedures. Other duties as may be assigned. Minimum Education/Experience Certificate of completion from college or vocational school Successful completion of a Radiologic Technologist Program (College or Institutional Program) approved by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). The college program will grant a minimum of an Associate’s Degree (A.S.) or Radiologic Technology program or equivalent. 1-2 years relevant experience Required Licenses/Certifications American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiography (ARRT-R) American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Upon Hire Computed Tomography (CT) Within 6 months of hire into job California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) RHF (Satisfies CRT RHT requirement) Upon hire Nevada Radiologic Technologist (not limited license) Within 3 months of hire into job All staff required to have both CA and NV Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Upon hire BLS: Employee will be enrolled in the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) Basic Life Support (BLS) Entry or Prep Curriculum (depending on their previous BLS certification).
