Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients of all ages using a mix of standardized assessments and observational methodologies. Create individualized treatment plans that cater to immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements. Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions focused on enhancing communication skills, fluency, voice quality, and safe swallowing practices. Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and caregivers, to develop holistic care strategies. Provide educational resources and guidance to patients and families for effective practice outside of therapy. Participate in inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatments, ensuring a seamless continuum of care throughout patient recovery. Document patient progress accurately and promptly in line with all regulatory standards. Engage in ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest advancements in speech-language pathology. Education
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified. Certifications
Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment. Skills
Expertise in evidence-based treatment techniques across various age groups and a solid understanding of developmental and acquired communication disorders. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and team members. Skill in modifying therapeutic approaches to suit diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
