Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' speech and language abilities to identify areas of need. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and student goals. Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and group settings. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' communication needs across all settings. Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. Educate and train staff and families on strategies to support communication development. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and reviews. Stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology and relevant educational policies. Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with district and state regulations. Advocate for the needs of students with speech and language disorders within the school community.
Requirements:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Current PA state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred. Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of speech and language development, disorders, and evidence-based practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and families. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and reporting. Commitment to professional development and continuous learning in the field of speech-language pathology.
