Job Description Metro Eyes is an Optometry & Ophthalmology practice, located in Vienna, Virginia, seeking a Sales Associate/Optical Front Desk professional who will serve as the initial point of contact, establishing the tone for a world-class patient experience and building relationships with all patients while delivering great Optical Sales/Front Desk Associate support with superb customer service and a professional attitude. The ideal candidate should be energetic and well-dressed, ready to assist our patients in selecting high-fashion eyewear and ensuring a smooth check-in/check-out process. The associate performs various administrative and sales tasks to facilitate a seamless experience for our patients in our expanding private practice. Responsibilities Support front desk activities, answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist in schedule confirmation in collaboration with the office team and doctor. Provide excellent customer service by greeting patients, answering questions, and assisting patients in choosing the right eyewear, fame style/color based on their needs/preferences and prescription requirements. Explain different lens options, such as single vision, bifocal, progressive, and specialty lenses, and help customers choose the most suitable option for their vision needs. Perform basic adjustments and repairs on eyewear to ensure proper fit and functionality or coordinate with optician for more complex repairs. Assist patient with placing orders, verify prescriptions, and provide accurate information regarding pricing, warranties, and delivery times. Complete paperwork, pull/confirm insurance benefits, process transactions, collect payments, submit visual insurance claims, routing slips, and maintain accurate records of daily sales/tracker. Monitor, maintain, restock shelves, and organize displays to ensure a visually appealing. Diligently maintain cleanliness of machines, displays, and office space. Serve as a back-up in performing preliminary tests on patients, including visual testing, color vision, and depth perception, intraocular pressure, auto-refraction, and retinal imaging. Education and Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Medical office experience: at least 1 year experience as front desk receptionist at a healthcare facility, knowledge of various insurance plans. Optical retail sales: experience in optical retail sales, knowledge of optical products, understanding of different types of eyewear, lenses, frames, and accessories. Ability/willingness to cross train to other office support roles such as Optician and Optometric technician. Understand HIPAA and be knowledgeable in patient Electronic medical records (EMRs)/Electronic health records (EHRs). Organizational skills to manage appointments, patient’s records, and inventory. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks under pressure, while providing best in class to patients and office staff. Flexible, team player, professional attitude, patient-centric, ability to wear multiple hats. Computer savvy with excellent written and oral communication skills.
