Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive screenings and diagnostic evaluations to identify disorders in articulation, language, voice, fluency, and oral-motor skills. Interpret assessment data to determine eligibility for special education services under IDEA guidelines. Perform functional communication assessments, including evaluations for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices. (D 20%) Instruction & Intervention: Develop and implement evidence-based, goal-oriented therapy plans for students (PreK-12). Provide direct services via various delivery models, including individual, small group, and "push-in" classroom support. Integrate therapy goals with the general education curriculum to support academic achievement and literacy. (D 25%) Case Management & Compliance: Serve as a case manager for students whose primary disability is speech-language impairment. Facilitate and participate in IEP meetings, providing progress reports and recommendations for goals and accommodations. Maintain accurate clinical records, including Medicaid billing documentation and progress monitoring data. (D 25%) Collaboration & Consultation: Consult with teachers, parents, and administrators to implement classroom accommodations and home-based strategies. Collaborate with the Special Education team (OTs, PTs, and Psychologists) to provide holistic student support. Train and supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) where applicable. (D 25%) Perform other duties as assigned. (M 5%)
Education & Certification: Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from an ASHA-accredited program. Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Services License with SLP endorsement. DORA Licensure from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA (Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates may be considered). Technical & Professional Skills: Proficiency in educational technology and IEP management software (e.g., Infinite Campus). Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle diverse caseloads. Ability to communicate complex clinical findings clearly to families and non-clinical staff.
