Description
Conduct comprehensive evaluations across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods. Formulate individualized treatment plans that target both immediate goals and overarching communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs. Deliver targeted speech therapy interventions that focus on communication skills, language development, fluency, vocalization, and swallowing mechanics. Collaborate seamlessly with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, families, and caregivers to craft cohesive care strategies. Provide educational resources for patients and their families to ensure continued progress beyond the clinical setting. Occasionally assist with inpatient evaluations and therapies, ensuring a continuum of care throughout every patient's treatment journey. Maintain meticulous documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational policies. Stay abreast of advancements in speech-language pathology through continuous education and peer engagement. Education
Earned a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) required if not ASHA-certified. Certifications
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. The Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is highly preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandated within 30 days of hire. Skills
Deep understanding of evidence-based treatment modalities for diverse age groups, with a focus on developmental and acquired disorders related to speech, language, and swallowing. Strong interpersonal communication abilities with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
