As a Speech Language Pathologist within the thriving landscape of Amarillo, you'll embark on a journey that transcends mere treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. Your role will ignite potential, revive confidence, and foster connection - from the joyous giggles of toddlers articulating their first words to the empowering moments when seniors regain their independence. This position presents a one-of-a-kind opportunity to aid a diverse spectrum of individuals throughout their lifetime, in a setting that artfully combines outpatient therapy alongside occasional inpatient support. Description
Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing validated assessments and observational strategies. Create tailored treatment regimens that align with both immediate objectives and enduring communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs. Deliver focused, one-on-one interventions in speech therapy addressing communication, language proficiency, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to establish integrated care strategies. Provide educational support to patients and families to foster ongoing progress beyond clinical settings. Assist in the rare inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout the treatment experience. Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards. Keep abreast of the latest advancements in the field through continued education and collaboration with peers. Education
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending. Certifications
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first month of employment. Skills
Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies for all age groups, with a deep grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional communication skills to engage with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams. Capacity to adapt therapeutic techniques to meet a wide array of cultural and linguistic requirements. Strong clinical acumen and problem-solving capabilities. Competence with electronic medical records systems and documentation guidelines. Benefits
Attractive compensation that reflects experience. Flexible scheduling promoting work-life harmony and diverse caseloads. Opportunities to specialize in pediatrics, adult neuro rehab, or geriatrics. Paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay. Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance possibilities. Assistance with continuing education and professional development initiatives. A supportive, team-oriented environment dedicated to high-quality care and ongoing learning.
A Career That Evolves with You - and Inspires You In this role, you won't merely be providing speech therapy - you'll be part of a mission deeply rooted in community connections, restoring voices, and creating joyful moments through fundamental human interactions: understanding and being understood. Working alongside colleagues who treat one another like family, in a setting that champions collaboration over competition, you will have the opportunity to help craft each patient's story. Why You'll Love Living and Working Here The rhythm of life in Amarillo resonates with an energetic spirit of innovation intertwined with warm southern hospitality. Surrounded by scenic landscapes and friendly communities, you'll discover a fulfilling balance of culture, nature, and career prospects. Families come together in sunlit parks for community events and lively music, while nature enthusiasts explore vast trails, bask in the beauty of local lakes, or enjoy weekends at the bustling farmers markets and local wineries. Culinary enthusiasts can opt for delectable food venues ranging from hearty barbecue joints to upscale eateries that celebrate the region's agricultural treasures. The creative pulse of Amarillo is reflected in local art, echoed in musical performances across intimate venues, and celebrated in the festivals uniting diverse communities. For healthcare professionals, the perks extend beyond lifestyle choices - the absence of state income tax, a manageable cost of living, and a growing healthcare network make Amarillo an ideal setting for both career advancement and personal fulfillment. If you are a freshly minted graduate or an experienced practitioner looking to expand your horizons, you will find the nurturing environment to flourish - both personally and professionally. Who We're Looking For We're in search of a Speech Language Pathologist fueled not just by results but by compassion. Someone who sees potential in a reticent child and dreams of future self-expression, who perceives the tentative speech of a recovering stroke patient and hears resilience. You might be a pediatric expert wanting to branch into adult services - or a neuro-focused clinician eager to delve into early intervention. Whatever your passion is, if you are ready to lead with skill and serve with heart, we are poised to welcome you onboard. Let's Discover the Right Words - Together If you understand that speech encompasses more than just sound, and therapy goes beyond mere tasks - if you believe in building trust before pursuing goals, and that laughter counts as much as language - this could be the next chapter of your professional journey. Join us in a community that values communication, connection, and the bravery it takes to embrace new beginnings. Apply today to bring your voice into our fold - and guide others to find theirs.
