Description
Conduct assessments for patients of all ages, employing both standardized tools and observational methods. Craft individualized treatment plans that encompass both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives. Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions concentrating on communication, language skills, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Work collaboratively with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, as well as caregivers and families to develop comprehensive care strategies. Provide educational resources and guidance to patients and families to facilitate continued progress outside therapy sessions. Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapeutic interventions, ensuring smooth continuity of care throughout the patient's journey. Maintain precise and timely records that adhere to state, federal, and organizational standards. Stay abreast of advancements in the field through ongoing education and collaborative exchanges with peers. Education
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications
Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment. Skills
