Executing in-depth patient evaluations, directing necessary diagnostic examinations, and crafting customized care strategies Diagnosing and treating acute, episodic, or chronic health conditions in conjunction with physicians or autonomously (as credentialing allows) Instructing patients and their families on preventative care, wellness strategies, and management of diseases Prescribing medications and therapies as permitted by practice scope Engaging in patient follow-up care and chronic disease management Working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic and seamless patient care Completing detailed and accurate documentation within electronic medical records (EMR) Educational Requirements
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Graduation from a nationally accredited Nurse Practitioner program Essential Certifications
Current Nurse Practitioner license in the District of Columbia National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or comparable specialty certification Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to procure within 90 days) What Distinguishes You
