Night Shift Medical Technician This is a 13-week contract position. 3x12 hour shifts, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. We are seeking a dedicated Medical Technician to specialize in blood collection and patient care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in various laboratory procedures and exhibit a high level of patient interaction. The technician will ensure accurate and timely processing of specimens while adhering to best practices and compliance standards. Responsibilities:
Perform blood draws and collection of other specimens as needed. Prioritize patient collections based on order requests (stat, timed, routine). Proper labeling and documentation of all specimens. Maintain high standards for patient care, including post-venipuncture site care. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment according to guidelines.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
Must be certified by ASCP, ASPT, or NHA. 2 years of charge experience in a relevant setting is required. BLS certification is mandatory. EPIC experience is required for this role.
