We are seeking an experienced Materials Master Data Specialist to support the management, governance, and continuous improvement of global material master data within a complex SAP environment. This role is critical in ensuring high-quality, consistent, and compliant material data across multiple regions, enabling effective supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, and commercial operations. The position also plays a key role in supporting ongoing SAP ECC to S/4HANA transformation activities, including data migration, cleansing, and standardisation initiatives. You will act as a key partner to cross-functional business stakeholders, ensuring material master data is accurately created, maintained, and aligned with global data governance standards. Key Responsibilities Master Data Management & Governance Manage the full lifecycle of material master data within SAP (creation, maintenance, extension, blocking, and retirement) Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of material data across multiple plants and regions Apply and enforce master data governance policies, standards, and controls Perform data validations, audits, and root cause analysis to resolve data quality issues Support data cleansing and harmonisation activities, including duplicate and obsolete material remediation Business Support & Stakeholder Engagement Act as a key point of contact for material master data queries and requests Translate business requirements into effective SAP master data solutions Partner with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, and Commercial teams Provide responsive and high-quality support to business stakeholders Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency Material Creation & Maintenance Create and maintain material master records including: Raw materials Semi-finished goods Finished goods Packaging and bulk materials Extend materials across plants, sales organisations, and regions Perform mass updates relating to MRP, production, planning, quality, procurement, and logistics views BOM Management Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) Support engineering changes and product lifecycle updates Validate BOM structures, components, and material relationships New Product Introduction (NPI) Support new product development and launch activities Ensure timely setup of new SKUs, product hierarchies, and related master data elements Coordinate creation of packaging, codes (e.g., GTIN/UPC), and BOM structures Projects & Continuous Improvement Support SAP ECC and S/4HANA migration and transformation projects Contribute to data migration, validation, testing, and reconciliation activities Participate in master data standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives Identify opportunities for automation and process optimisation Reporting & Data Quality Produce ad hoc reports and data analysis for business stakeholders Monitor data quality KPIs and support governance reporting Support ongoing master data maintenance cycles and operational reporting needs Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills Strong experience with SAP Material Master (MM module) Hands-on experience with material lifecycle management Knowledge of BOM creation and maintenance Understanding of MRP, production planning, and supply chain processes Strong Excel skills for data analysis and manipulation Experience with SAP ECC; S/4HANA exposure highly desirable Experience Background in Master Data Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or SAP functional environments Experience supporting cross-functional and international stakeholders Exposure to SAP implementation, migration, or transformation programmes preferred Key Competencies Strong attention to detail and data accuracy focus Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong customer service mindset Proactive approach to continuous improvement Ability to work effectively in global, cross-functional teams
