Position Summary:
The Production Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production that meets company quality, delivery, and performance objectives. This role drives the facility's safety culture, coordinates production planning and execution, and provides leadership to production supervisors and teams. The Production Manager partners closely with Planning, Maintenance, and Engineering to optimize throughput, minimize downtime, control costs, and support continuous improvement initiatives while fostering a positive, engaged, and accountable workforce.
Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities:
Drive our Safety Culture throughout the facility to ensure the safety of employees, visitors, and contractorsInterface with production planner to establish priorities and sequences for manufacturing productsCoordinate production activities through planning with managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective mannerCoordinate with Maintenance and Engineering to resolve manufacturing problems to ensure minimum costs and delaysPromote safe work practices and demonstrates a zero tolerance for non-compliance with safe work practices, policies and regulationsProvide leadership to accomplish the company goals and objectivesProvides direction, development and leadership to production supervisorsBuild and engage employees that support our goals and objectivesDevelops or revises standard operational and working practices and ensures positive work environmentLeads, encourages and supports continuous improvement projectsImplement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, people management, wages and salaries.Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.Control and minimize labor overtime and supply disruptionsAssist in maintaining existing plant facilities and equipment; replace, or adjust plant facilities and equipment when necessaryWorks with maintenance to maximize uptime and maintain preventative maintenance programsIncorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel
Knowledge/Skills/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business or related engineering field along with 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience5+ years of proven manufacturing leadership experience requiredKnowledge of wire and cable products and processes preferredAbility to apply technical knowledge or experience to define problems, generate alternatives, and execute solutionsDemonstrated ability to perform customary management and supervisory responsibilities, including goal setting, planning, direction, training and evaluationProven ability to lead a teamMust possess excellent verbal and written communication skills along with exceptional interpersonal skillsAbility to effectively communicate our goals and objectives to a team and convey the part they play in achieving those goals
