Overview We have an immediate need for a Mechanical Engineer in Newton, MA.

Responsibilities
* Design and develop HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, municipal and healthcare facilities. * Conduct site visits, inspections, field surveys to support design and construction phases. * Preparation of construction documents, including drawings, specifications, riser diagrams and load calculations. * Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards. * Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architectural, electrical, plumbing, structural and other team members. * Review of submittals and RFIs during construction administration * Serve as Project Engineer and Project Manager on smaller, less complex projects * Use engineering and design computer software to complete assigned work (i.e. Autodesk Revit MEP & AutoCAD)
Qualifications
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. * 3-7 years of relevant HVAC design experience. * Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., ICC, NFPA, ASHRAE). * Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and load calculation software. * EIT certification; PE license preferred or in progress. * Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
* Ability to work independently with general instructions / guidance from senior engineers to produce the expected results * Experience with sustainable design and LEED-certified projects. * Self-motivated with the ability to multitask to meet specific project deadlines. * Ideal candidate would have project management experience.
