Assists and completes daily routines (i.e. crash cart checks, narcotic counts, glucometer controls) as directed. Keeps department clean, orderly and stocks daily. May function in charge nurse role and accepts increased supervisory responsibilities as requested. Acts as a resource to others. Delegates responsibly. 5. Floating Works regularly scheduled shifts but receives unit assignments on a day-to-day basis. May be reassigned during shift according to SJH floating policy. Rotates to cross train in all inpatient units during slower periods to maintain skills and familiarity with multiple unit layouts and workflows. Job RequirementsMinimum EducationRequired ASN Preferred BSN Minimum Work ExperienceRequired: Demonstrated critical thinking skills and a professional style of communication. Basic computer skills. Preferred: At least 1 year acute care nursing experience strongly preferred. Required Licenses: Current RN license with authority to practice in the state of Wyoming, BLS required at the time of hire and ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire. CPI required within 6 months of hire. NRP preferred. NRP required if floating to OB within 6 months of hire. Functional DemandsWorking Conditions: Hospital units including Medical-Surgical, Inpatient Rehab, Obstetrics, and Long Term Care. 12-hour shifts including days and nights, irregular meals and breaks. Fast-paced and noisy at times. Stressful situations, frequent interruptions. Must be on site at the SJH campus or other facilities to fulfil the responsibilities of this role. Physical Requirements: 90% of the time standing or walking. Long hours with irregular breaks and meals. Must possess sight/ hearing senses to fully perform job functions. Must possess the ability to lift, push, pull or move patients, equipment, and supplies. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Intermittent sitting, phone and computer use. Direct Reports: none Reports to: Clinical Manager RN PCU Internal and External Contacts: all hospital staff, physicians, patients, families, visitors, vendors and the community.
