Über
Institutes new exams and procedures into department protocol improving department capabilities. Monitor and evaluate department activity to determine referral patterns and ways to increase productivity. Coordinates exams and procedures with other departments to insure proper sequences for maximum patient care. Plans work flow patterns maintaining patient safety and complete utilization of available resources for as many patients as possible. Supervision of staff to insure adherence to exam protocol, insure proper instruction in exam techniques, insure proper patient assignments, schedule vacation, personnel days, etc. in order to maintain patient care at the highest level. Communicates with the patients to allay fears of the patient, explain procedures, delays and preparations. Performs procedures to evaluate machine performance, maintain skills and talents in areas of diagnostic use of diagnostic use of equipment. Develops and maintains QA program. Reviews and updates Policy and Procedure Manual for compliance with NY State and JC inspections. Assembles image data and application process to ACR for accreditation. Performs evaluation competencies and corrective action forms to assure constant dialogue between supervisor and staff regarding job application and techniques. Reviews and updates CT scan and MRI procedure policy manual annually. Establishes par levels of supplies. Performs statistical and coding activities. Establishes and adheres to department budget yearly. Interviews candidates for technician positions for CT scan and MRI. Researches and presents capital investments including projections summaries pertaining to the department.
Qualifications
Graduate of an approved school for Radiologic Technology Licensed for New York State in Radiologic technology including permit for injections; Registered or eligible by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; Advanced Certification CT from ARRT, eligible Special Procedure, and MRI is preferred; 4 years experience in Cat Scan and Interventional Radiology
