We seek a highly motivated Critical Care Technician (CCT) to join our fast-paced Emergency Department. This essential full-time role supports patients, Registered Nurses, and the healthcare team by combining direct patient care with vital monitoring and administrative duties. The CCT ensures efficient workflow and contributes to exceptional patient outcomes in a high-acuity setting. Key Responsibilities:
Direct Patient Care: Perform and assist with ADLs, basic nursing care (e.g., vital signs, specimen collection), patient transport, and comfort measures under RN direction. Promptly respond to call lights and patient requests. Critical Monitoring: Meticulously operate the central monitoring station, including admitting/discharging patients, assigning arrhythmia monitoring, adjusting alarm limits (RN directed), validating alarms, and printing/posting recordings. Proactively troubleshoot monitor issues and escalate critical alerts to nursing staff. Administrative & Clerical Support: Accurately transcribe and enter physician orders, schedule appointments/tests, and manage medication deliveries. Provide comprehensive clerical support using various communication systems (phone, paging, computer, fax) and maintain organized patient charts. Unit Readiness: Clean and maintain specialized equipment and restock designated supply areas to ensure operational readiness
Job Requirements:
Minimum 16 years of age (state requirement). Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification. Active on the Nebraska Nurse Aide Registry. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association upon hire
