We're looking for a Patient Disability/FMLA Specialist and Deposition Coordinator to be a vital link between our patients and providers. ABOUT BONE & JOINT Bone & Joint is a physician owned practice with a great team of orthopedic and PM&R providers. We currently have offices in Rib Mountain, Wausau, Merrill, Medford, and Plover to service much of central Wisconsin. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PATIENT DISABILITY/FMLA SPECIALIST & DEPOSITION COORDINATOR You will serve as the primary point of contact for patient's submitting FMLA and disability forms. You will review paperwork for completeness and accuracy before routing to appropriate providers. In the process, you will track and manage documentation timelines to ensure timely completion and return. You will interpret medical records to support disability claims and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations. A big part of your role will be to coordinate and schedule provider depositions and attorney conference calls. You will manage logistics for in-person and virtual depositions, ensuring all parties are informed and prepared. You will have monthly one on one meetings with the HIM Supervisor and participate in monthly team huddles. One of the most important responsibilities in this role will be to abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) state and federal regulations. Don't worry, our training process is excellent, and you will be up to speed in no time.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PATIENT DISABILTY/FMLA SPECIALIST & DEPOSITION COORDINATOR
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver's License
2+ years of experience in a healthcare, legal or administrative support role
High level attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
WORK SCHEDULE This position is on site and requires working Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm with a 30-minute lunch break. There may be times when asked to work a flexible schedule to cover for vacations and illness.
