Benefits you can count on: Pay structure, which includes component pay (by mile, stop, and case). (Combination of local and multiple day routes. Overnight shifts, 9 pm dispatch times 10 - 13-hour routes till next day and extra board duties are included. Extra board is where all new hires start after training. Extra board is a 4 or 5-day work week with Saturday night and one other night during the week off. Your routes will change daily.) What you'll do as a CDL-A Delivery Driver: Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition. Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery. Drive tractor-trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle on the road and on customer premises. Maintain driver log (Manual or Peoplenet) according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, product temperatures and exceptions. Unload trailer, delivering product into customer premises. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications you'll bring as a CDL-A Teammate: At least 21 years of age Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A) At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience Must meet McLane's MVR and risk rating qualifications This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
