About the Role:
Southern Lumber & Millwork is an 85-year-old family-owned building materials supplier serving contractors, builders, remodelers, and homeowners throughout the Charleston area. We supply lumber, building materials, windows and doors, and custom millwork whiledelivering the exceptional customer experience known as The Southern Difference.
We are seeking a customer-focused Administrative Sales Assistant to join our team. This position combines customer service, administrative support, and retail sales in a fast-paced building materials environment.
You will assist customers in person, over the phone, and through email by helping them place orders, answering questions, processing payments, and ensuring they receive the products and service they need. Many of our customers are repeat contractors and homeowners, so building strong relationships and providing excellent customer service are essential.
Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills are strongly preferred.
Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing you to enjoy your nights and weekends.
Responsibilities: Assist customers in person, by phone, and through email. Build strong relationships with repeat customers, contractors, builders, and homeowners. Process customer orders accurately and efficiently. Accept payments and assist with returns and account inquiries. Answer incoming phone calls and direct customers to the appropriate department when needed. Provide information on products, pricing, and material availability. Enter and maintain customer orders and records. Coordinate with yard, shipping, receiving, and sales teams to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately. Resolve customer questions and concerns in a professional and timely manner. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming customer service environment. Deliver the high level of service and attention to detail that customers expect from Southern Lumber. About You:
