The role will be pivotal in diagnosing and resolving technical issues, maintaining our network and hardware, and supporting our educational goals through technology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Infrastructure & Network Management
Technology Infrastructure: Oversee daily operations of computer systems, hardware, software, and network infrastructure to ensure reliability and efficiency.
Network Connectivity & Security: Manage and optimize wired and wireless networks, firewalls, switches, and wireless components. Perform device management and installation with knowledge of networking and cybersecurity best practices.
Systems & Technical Operations
System Administration: Administer user accounts and permissions across various platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, Jamf). Handle installation, configuration, patching, and maintenance of macOS, ChromeOS, and Windows.
Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with servers, workstations, and peripherals. Manage software deployment, licensing, and updates.
Asset Management: Develop and maintain detailed inventory, documentation, and protocols for all technological assets, ensuring operational excellence and compliance.
User Support & Service
Help Desk Support: Provide first‑level technical assistance to staff and students with patience, empathy, and a helpful attitude. Utilize our service request system for issue tracking and escalation, focusing on minimizing downtime and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships.
Collaborative Problem‑Solving: Move work forward collaboratively across multiple teams, serving as a reliable backup for the IT team and promoting a culture of teamwork and mutual support.
Continuous Learning: Rapidly learn and apply new technologies as the IT landscape evolves, maintaining attention to detail in configuration changes, security management, and troubleshooting.

QUALIFICATIONS
Commitment to the mission of Envision Education.

Expertise in Apple hardware and Mac OS, and Google Chrome hardware support, with a strong foundation in networking principles.
Proficient in Meraki management, including network configuration, security settings, and device management, to ensure a seamless, secure, and scalable digital environment.
Familiarity with audio/visual technology and proficiency in crucial software applications (Google Apps, Adobe Creative Suite).
Previous experience in educational settings is highly desirable, with a passion for leveraging technology to enhance learning.
A proven track record of resourcefulness with a knack for solving complex problems.
Once hired, continuous current California residency.
Receptiveness to feedback and desire to continuously improve to meet outcomes.
Preferred: A degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, and/or technology certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, Apple).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the job's responsibilities, the employee is required to:
Talk and hear.
Sit and use their hands and fingers while repairing technical equipment.
Travel between multiple campuses and while driving, lifting, moving, or navigating different floors and stairs.
LOCATION & TRANSPORTATION This role requires flexibility to travel between the three primary sites for this role, including The Envision Schools Support Office, Downtown Oakland Science Academy, and East Bay Innovation Academy— as well as occasional travel to our other schools located in San Francisco and Hayward.
A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is required for frequent inter‑site travel, which may involve transporting equipment.
Personal vehicle mileage is reimbursable for work‑related travel between school sites.
Regular commuting is not reimbursable.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS The salary range for this role will be prorated based on an annual salary of between $70,304 and $78,000 dependent upon years of aligned experience and credentials.

If you are offered this position, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, Envision Education complies with applicable pay equity laws and considers internal equity among current employees when developing the final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package.
