SWTO, LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary and private fuel delivery fleet of 7-Eleven & SEI Fuels. We compliment 7-Eleven's existing carrier portfolio with a fleet of 250+ power units. Our 500+ drivers will deliver ~1.8 billion gallons of gas, diesel and ethanol, mainly to retail convenience stores and commercial fueling centers. The Fleet Safety, Compliance, and Training Specialist provides safety management oversight for the SWTO Fleet Operations team by supporting our comprehensive fleet safety management strategy, while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and Company policies and practices. Collaborates with Fleet Operations partners for management and leadership of the daily safety, compliance, and training activities. Responds to and supports safety incident management and coordinate efforts to mitigate damages, claims and injuries. Key duties and responsibilities:
Promote a positive safety culture which recognizes and rewards safe behaviors and safe work practices. Reinforce the Company's Fleet Safety, Compliance, and Training programs through a behavior-based safety mindset Leverage technology to support behavior-based safety performance including Virtual Risk Manager, vehicle telematics, and other data used to create driver risk profile with focus on safety incident prevention Provide timely and proper incident response, management and reporting of commercial motor vehicle crashes by working closely with Fleet Operations, Risk Management, Legal teams, and all other Corporate (Safety, Asset Protection, Environmental, Risk Management, Worker's Compensation) and regulatory stakeholders Direct Company activities associated safety incident management oversight; investigation, root cause analysis, and administrative requirements including safety incident cost claims Oversight and responsibility for all Safety Performance Reviews and CMV Driver Qualification Policy that all CMV drivers meet internal qualifications standards Collaborate with HR and Fleet Operations in review process Provide support in performance improvement plans for CMV drivers that meet criteria Oversee and responsible for regulatory compliance with designated industry agencies; USDOT, FMCSA, PHMSA, OSHA and other federal, state, and local authorities Full oversight and responsibility of for FMCSA's Safety Management System (SMS) - Behavior Analysis and Safety Improvement Categories (BASICs) Ensure system data is correct and communicate results and trends with operational stakeholders Work collaborative with all internal stakeholders to drive improved results Maintain and update all driver qualification (DQ) files including required regulatory training and credential management Act as primary point of contact for Compliance Reviews, Interventions and all other inquiries. Ensure all Fleet Operations partners are knowledgeable and performing on Company's Safety Management Program; including Train all Fleet Operations partners to properly conduct and oversee Fleet Safety Observation Program including management of Direct Safety Observations (DSO), Job Safety Observations (JSO) and Vehicles Safety Inspections (VSI) Stop Work Authority
Education and experience:
Education: Bachelor's degree preferred or associate degree in Logistics or Industrial Safety Years of relevant work experience: 3+ Years of management experience: NA Certifications / Licenses: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred, and will consider related safety work experience with commitment to pursue Certifications
Specific knowledge and skills:
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local fleet and safety regulatory requirements (USDOT, FMCSA, OSHA, PHMSA, etc.). Knowledge and experience with transportation systems and technology including but not limited to: Electronic driver logs (ELD), Driver Video Systems, Trimble Fleet Mobility (aka – PeopleNet), TMW, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Bendix Fusions, Samsara, etc. Strong leadership, collaboration, analytical, influential, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Must be results-oriented with the ability to drive continuous improvement within the Safety organization. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally both verbally, non-verbally and in writing.
