Phlebotomist This position requires night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, following a schedule of 7 shifts on and 8 shifts off. The Phlebotomist position is responsible for drawing blood from both inpatient and outpatient settings to facilitate testing and support doctors in making diagnoses.
Send out all pathology and cytology, bone marrow biopsies, and fine needle aspirates. Review and input patient demographics for pathology. Review and print pathology reports while inputting histology charges as they come in. Order tests and prepare them to standards. Check lab orders for accuracy, confirm physician orders, and make necessary changes. Perform venipuncture blood draws, heel sticks, and finger pokes. Verify patient information and conduct drug screens and breathalyzers. Stay updated with changes and new protocols in phlebotomy. Perform other duties as requested.
High school diploma or equivalent required. 1+ years of related work experience preferred. BLS certification required or must be obtained within 3 months of hire. Valid and current driver's license preferred. Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
