Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to identify therapeutic needs. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on rehabilitation and skill development. Provide hands-on therapy and guidance to patients, utilizing techniques tailored to conditions such as cerebral palsy and geriatric impairments. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and caregivers to coordinate care and support patient progress. Document patient progress meticulously and adjust treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution. Valid state licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapist in Ohio. Demonstrated experience in rehabilitation therapy, including physical and occupational therapy techniques. Strong knowledge of therapeutic interventions for geriatric populations and neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in specialized rehabilitation techniques or pediatric occupational therapy. Experience working in a clinical or hospital setting within the Cincinnati area. Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment for patient care. Additional training in cognitive rehabilitation or mental health support. Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations.
Skills The required skills in occupational therapy, physical therapy, and rehabilitation are applied daily to evaluate patient conditions and design effective treatment plans that address individual needs. Geriatric rehabilitation expertise enables the therapist to tailor interventions that improve mobility, safety, and independence for elderly patients. Knowledge of cerebral palsy informs specialized therapeutic approaches that enhance motor skills and functional abilities in affected individuals. Collaboration and communication skills are essential for coordinating care with healthcare teams and educating patients and families. Preferred skills such as familiarity with assistive technologies and additional certifications further enhance the therapist's ability to provide comprehensive, innovative care that supports patient recovery and quality of life.
