- Assist the Operator and Assistant Operator in the setup and operation of equipment used to run corrugated boxes according to customer specifications.
- Operate equipment when necessary to maintain productivity, quality, and safe machine performance.
- Ability to operate various manufacturing equipment, follow specific direction, operate power hand tools, and other duties as assigned.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Ability to read a tape measure and have basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to work safely and comply with all safety regulations.
- Ability to lift, push or pull 50lbs, navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift.
- Required to work daily overtime and weekend work.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
- Follow all safety and housekeeping procedures, including lockout/tagout, PPE use, awareness of moving machinery and nip points, proper lifting techniques, and use of guards and safety devices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area by performing daily cleanup, removing trash, following the Safety Manual cleaning schedule, and keeping scrap cleared.
- Use Factory Orders and Print Cards to set accurate machine parameters and ensure proper equipment operation.
- Perform essential machine setup tasks such as setting the stacker, installing dies/attachments/printing plates, setting rolls, collars, scores, blades, feeders, adjusting pressures and register, and operating glue and ink systems.
- Conduct key quality checks including first‑piece dimensional and print inspections, in‑run checks, ink color/viscosity checks, and confirming proper box fold and completeness.
- Shut down equipment and notify a supervisor immediately if major issues occur.
- Communicate effectively using interrupt buttons, verbal communication, and required hand signals.
