The Role We’re looking for a Software Engineer (Backend‑Focused) to join our team and help scale our platform. If you have a strong background in Python and Django, enjoy working on complex backend systems, and thrive in a fast‑paced startup environment, this is an exciting opportunity to own your work, make an impact, and grow with the company. You’ll play a critical role in developing robust APIs, optimizing database performance, and ensuring scalability as we continue to expand. While your focus will be backend development, experience with TypeScript and React is a plus. This position is remote‑friendly, but we’re looking for someone located on the East Coast (NY/Tri‑State area is a big plus) to align with our team’s collaboration hours and potential in‑person opportunities in the future. What You’ll Do Develop and maintain backend services using Python and Django to support our growing platform. Design and optimize APIs to ensure seamless integration with our frontend and external systems. Enhance database performance, optimize queries, and ensure scalability. Collaborate with product and frontend teams to deliver seamless, high‑performance user experiences. Implement AI‑driven features, leveraging modern tools to automate and improve the hiring process. Own projects from end to end, working autonomously while contributing to a fast‑moving team. What We’re Looking For 2–3 years of experience working with Python and Django (must‑have). Familiarity with PostgreSQL, REST APIs, and scalable backend architectures. Familiar working with AI tooling (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.). Strong problem‑solving skills and an ability to optimize performance and efficiency. Experience working with TypeScript and React is a nice to have, but not required. Comfort working in a fast‑paced startup environment, with a willingness to take ownership and iterate quickly. Located on the East Coast (NY/Tri‑State area is a big plus) for better collaboration.
