ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Confers with management, supervisors and Team Members to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.
• Coordinates training schedule with the hiring and training demands of all shifts.
• Conducts daily classroom testing, video and hands-on forklift driving evaluations.
• Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as refresher and annual training requirements i.e. SHARP (Ship, Handle and Receive Properly), Batch Control, SAM (super absorbent material) Hazards, LOTO, Battery Changing Procedures, and forklift recertification.
• Conducts group and/or one-on-one training sessions, as needed.
• Evaluates trainees to measure progress and effectiveness of training.
• Completes training reports on trainees.
• Counsels Team Members with problems concerning "how to" perform specific tasks related to forklift operation.
• Creates and updates training manuals and agendas.
• Confers with management to develop training materials.
• Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of all training programs.
• Makes suggestions on improving work procedures.
• Operates a lift truck performing various material handling duties in the facility as requested by Operations Manager of Shift Supervisor.
• Performs all essential functions of Material Handler position.
• Reliable attendance for scheduled shifts.
• Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
• Performs all other duties as assigned or needed

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred. Experience: One (1) year related experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred. At least 80% cross-trained in all material handling functions preferred. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills; hand-held radio skills. Certificates & Licenses: Valid State Driver's License; Forklift Certification.
