Job SummaryThe Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. This role supports daily patient needs, assists with mobility and personal care, monitors patient conditions, and contributes to a clean, safe, and supportive care environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, toileting, and feeding
- Measure and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations, pulse oximetry, and blood glucose checks
- Assist with patient mobility, transfers, range-of-motion exercises, and use of mechanical lifts and wheelchairs
- Prepare patients for admission, transfer, discharge, and procedures
- Observe and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff promptly
- Collect specimens (urine, stool, sputum) and document intake and output accurately
- Apply and monitor restraints per policy with proper documentation
- Assist with post-mortem care as needed
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of patient rooms and nursing units
- Transport patients safely to designated areas
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Respond appropriately during emergency situations and assist with CPR or Heimlich maneuver when needed
Required:
- Completion of a Nurse Aide training program or on-the-job training with demonstrated competency
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Preferred:
- Previous experience in an acute care or hospital setting
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
Compensation & Schedule
Pay range: Based on experience and internal equity
Schedule: Full-time and part-time opportunities; varied shifts available
