*Job Summary:*
As a Quality Engineer, your role is integral to ensuring the quality, functionality, and usability of software products before they are released to clients. Your primary responsibility is to thoroughly test our software platforms, identify defects or issues, and provide valuable feedback to the development team for improvements. Here's a detailed description of your role and responsibilities:
*Key Responsibilities:*
* *Test Planning and Preparation*:
* *Review Requirements*: Review and analyze software requirements to understand the scope of testing.
* *Test Case Design*: Develop detailed manual test cases based on requirements, covering positive, negative, and edge cases.
* *Test Data Preparation*: Prepare test data and test environments required for executing test cases.
* *Manual Testing Execution*:
* *Functional Testing*: Execute test cases to validate the software's functionality against specifications.
* *Regression Testing*: Conduct regression tests to ensure existing functionality is not affected by new changes.
* *Usability Testing*: Evaluate the software's user interface for ease of use, consistency, and intuitiveness.
* *Exploratory Testing*: Perform exploratory testing to uncover defects that may not be covered by scripted test cases.
* *Defect Management*:
* *Defect Reporting*: Document defects found during testing, including steps to reproduce, expected vs. actual results, and severity.
* *Defect Verification*: Verify resolved defects to ensure they have been fixed correctly.
* *Communication*:
* *Status Updates*: Provide regular updates on testing progress, including any issues or roadblocks encountered.
* *Collaboration*: Work closely with developers to explain defects, assist in troubleshooting, and ensure clear communication.
* *Test Documentation*:
* *Test Plans*: Create comprehensive test plans outlining the testing approach, scope, negative test cases, and other resources.
* *Adherence to Standards*:
* *Compliance*: Ensure testing activities adhere to industry standards, best practices, and company policies.
* *Quality Standards*: Validate that the software meets the quality standards defined by Porch Software.
* *Continuous Learning*:
* *Skills Development*: Stay updated with the latest testing methodologies, tools, and technologies.
* *Feedback and Improvement*: Provide feedback on processes and tools to improve the overall testing efficiency.
* *Cross-Functional Collaboration*:
* Work collaboratively with other Quality Engineers, developers, and project managers to achieve project goals.
* *Ad Hoc Testing*:
* Perform ad hoc testing to simulate real-world scenarios and identify potential issues.
*Preferred skills and qualifications:*

*Schedule:* 8-hour Day shift, Monday to Friday, No nights

*Compensation: *60-75k annually
