1 day per week onsite Salary: Up to £85,000 + excellent benefits Contract: Permanent Im currently supporting one of the UKs leading universities with the recruitment of a Principal Data Engineer to join their growing Data function. This is a key role within the team, combining hands-on engineering with technical leadership and strategic input. Youll play a major role in shaping the universitys enterprise data platform capability while leading a team of Data Engineers across a modern Microsoft ecosystem. Youll be responsible for: Providing technical leadership across the Data Engineering function Designing and evolving enterprise-scale data platforms and roadmaps Leading on best practice across data governance, quality, and engineering standards Supporting and mentoring a team of Data Engineers Driving CI/CD and DevOps maturity across the data environment Working closely with stakeholders across the university to deliver scalable and reliable data solutions You must have: Strong hands-on experience with
Microsoft Fabric Proven background in
Data Engineering
within enterprise environments Experience with
data governance
and
data quality frameworks Strong knowledge of
