The YMCA of Corry is looking for enthusiastic, energetic, and reliable Gymnastics Coaches to join our team for the Tiny Tumblers (ages 4–5) and Progressive Gymnastics programs!
Position Summary
As a Gymnastics Coach, you will lead fun, safe, and age-appropriate gymnastics and tumbling classes that help young athletes build strength, coordination, confidence, and a love for movement. You’ll work with our youngest participants in a positive, supportive environment that aligns with the YMCA’s mission of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead engaging group classes for Tiny Tumblers (preschool) and Progressive Gymnastics levels
* Teach proper gymnastics progressions, tumbling skills, and basic apparatus work
* Spot athletes safely and provide hands-on assistance (especially with smaller children)
* Create a fun, inclusive, and encouraging atmosphere for all participants
* Maintain a safe environment and follow all YMCA safety guidelines
* Communicate positively with parents and build strong relationships with kids
* Set up and clean up equipment before and after classes
* Attend required staff meetings and trainings
Qualifications
* Previous experience coaching or participating in gymnastics, tumbling, cheer, or dance (preferred but not required — we will train the right person!)
* Energetic, patient, and great with young children
* Ability to lift and spot children safely
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work weekday afternoons/evenings and/or Saturday mornings
* CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire)
* Must pass a background check and child abuse clearance (required by the YMCA)
Hours
* Part-time, flexible hours (mostly late afternoons, evenings)
