About
Urban Air is seeking a General Manager to lead a new park in Gilroy. This role will drive results, build a strong team, and create a fun, high-energy culture for guests and staff.
You will lead the park from pre-opening through launch and ongoing operations. This includes hiring the full team, setting up operations, and driving overall performance.
Pre-Opening & Launch Responsibilities- Support ownership and corporate teams to prepare the park for a successful opening
- Assist with final construction coordination, vendor readiness, and operational setup
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and train 6080+ team members
- Ensure safety, operational, and regulatory readiness before opening
- Support local marketing, partnerships, and community outreach
- Build team culture, operating rhythms, and execution standards from day one
- Hire, train, and develop team members
- Build a team environment focused on great guest service
- Execute staff training programs
- Develop Area Leads and Certified Trainers
- Motivate managers and team members to achieve strong performance
- Execute employee recognition and incentive programs
- Maintain strong community relationships
- Maintain a safe, clean, and secure environment
- Oversee all areas of the park: attractions, food & beverage, retail, and facilities
- Ensure consistent execution of operating standards
- Provide clear direction to the management team
- Promote positive employee relations and strong team morale
- Hold managers accountable for meeting goals
- Monitor guest feedback and improve the experience
- Drive revenue through local marketing, events, and partnerships
- Support sales initiatives (parties, group events, community programs)
- Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control
- Ensure staffing aligns with labor targets
- Review financial reports and take action to improve results
- Enthusiastic and professional in all interactions
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills
- Experience in hospitality (theme parks, entertainment, hotels, restaurants, etc.)
- 3+ years in operations or facility management (5+ preferred)
- Proven ability to develop teams and deliver results
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Able to build relationships with employees, vendors, and partners
- Adaptable and flexible in a fast-changing environment
- High standards of professionalism and accountability
- Ability to set and communicate a clear vision
