About

Akkodis is seeking a Database Administrator for a Contract with a client in Austin, TX/Sunnyvale, CA. The ideal candidate is skilled in designing and managing multi‑node sharded clusters and replica sets in secure, high‑availability environments.
Rate Range: $55/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Database Administrator Job Responsibilities Include
Design, install, and configure multi‑node MongoDB replica sets and sharded clusters on Linux platforms.
Manage Ops Manager setup, including onboarding clusters, performing upgrades, and overseeing groups/projects.
Implement and maintain security through X509/TLS authentication, SSL key configuration, and access control.
Automate backup, restore, deployment, and monitoring workflows using Python and shell scripting.
Perform data migration, cluster upgrades, performance tuning, and query optimization across large‑scale environments.
Manage cluster operations such as adding/removing nodes, configuring shard keys, and ensuring balanced and efficient data distribution.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
6–8 years of hands‑on experience as a MongoDB DBA working with replica sets, sharded clusters, and secure enterprise environments.
Strong expertise in MongoDB Ops Manager, including upgrades, cluster onboarding, and environment management.
Proven ability to implement enterprise‑grade security using X509/TLS authentication and SSL configurations across MongoDB deployments.

Pay Details: $55.00 to $60.00 per hour
