Your new company A leading higher education institution is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to join a busy academic department based within a major healthcare setting in Cork. This temporary opportunity offers the chance to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment supporting undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, research initiatives, and academic programmes. Your new role As Executive Assistant, you will provide administrative support to the Department of Medicine, assisting with the delivery of academic programmes and departmental activities. Your responsibilities will include coordinating course materials, managing student and programme-related queries, supporting examination administration, maintaining departmental records and websites, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, assisting with payroll and staffing administration, processing expenses, and supporting purchasing and finance activities. You will work closely with academic staff and departmental colleagues to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the department. What you'll need to succeed The ideal candidate will have previous experience in an administrative, executive support, or coordination role within a busy professional environment. You will possess excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Experience supporting senior stakeholders, coordinating schedules, processing financial documentation, and working with a range of internal and external contacts would be advantageous. Strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and a proactive, team-orientated approach are essential.
