Engineer Software (Firmware) Position Our company is a global climate technologies firm focused on sustainable HVACR solutions and cold chain optimization. We support businesses that move, store, and sell food by providing advanced embedded systems that keep food fresh, safe, and traceable. Responsibilities Develop and support system and application firmware written in C/C++ for various embedded real‑time control platforms. Deliver high‑quality code that meets defined requirements for new product development, sustaining engineering, and cost‑reduction projects. Maintain and update project schedules in specified tools. Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and Agile ceremonies. Collaborate with global development teams via effective communication. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. 2–5 years of embedded firmware design experience. 2–5 years of experience with Inter‑Process Communications (IPC) including semaphores, queues, multi‑threading, sockets, etc. 2–5 years of C/C++ experience in delivered products. Experience with microprocessors and compilers such as x86, ARM (32/64‑bit), MSP430, eZ80, etc. Knowledge of communication protocols: RS‑485, Ethernet, TCP/IP, MQTT, MODBUS, BACnet, etc. RTOS experience. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Object‑oriented programming and design experience. Knowledge of security and communication protocols (OWASP, TCP/IP, MODBUS, BACnet, MQTT, Cloud Technologies). Experience with VxWorks, Linux, or Windows. HVAC/R industry experience. Location Kennesaw, Georgia (Greater Metro Atlanta Area). Our facility is conveniently located within driving distance to Atlanta and Historic Downtown Kennesaw.
