Position Summary The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the company’s network infrastructure. This role supports day-to-day network operations while leading or assisting with infrastructure-related projects. The Network Engineer ensures reliable, secure, and scalable connectivity across all locations and systems. This position works closely with the System Administrator and IT leadership to execute network improvements, support business operations, and maintain system integrity.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Network Infrastructure & Operations
Administer and support LAN/WAN environments, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless networks
Monitor network performance and availability; identify and resolve outages or degradation
Maintain and update network configurations, diagrams, and documentation
Ensure uptime and reliability across office and jobsite environments
Project Execution
Support and execute network and infrastructure projects (upgrades, expansions, site setups)
Assist in evaluating, selecting, and implementing network hardware and software solutions
Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders during project implementation
Security & Compliance
Support network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls
Assist in implementing security standards and best practices
Ensure systems comply with internal IT policies and data protection requirements
Troubleshooting & Support
Diagnose and resolve network-related issues across users, devices, and systems
Provide tier 2–3 support for escalated network incidents
Collaborate with IT team to resolve cross-functional technical issues
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, changes, and network topology
Recommend improvements to network performance, reliability, and scalability
Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing
Qualifications Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Networking, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3–5+ years of experience in network administration or engineering roles
Experience supporting multi-site network environments preferred
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of:
TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs
Network hardware (Cisco, Fortinet, or similar)
Firewalls, VPNs, and network security protocols
Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies
Familiarity with cloud networking (Azure/AWS) preferred
Certifications (Preferred)
CCNA, Network+, or similar networking certification

Physical Demands
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Ability to travel to job sites, field locations, and other company facilities as needed
Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing ladders, working at heights, and accessing network equipment in ceilings, utility areas, or elevated spaces
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods as required to perform job duties
Ability to work in office, industrial, and jobsite environments, including exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and conditions
