GM Performance Power Units - Concord, NC IT Desktop Support Technician - Onsite Job Summary GM Performance Power Units is seeking a motivated IT Desktop Support Technician to join our fast‑growing team. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide hands‑on technical support in a cutting‑edge, high‑performance environment. The IT Desktop Support Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting desktop hardware, software, and peripheral devices to ensure reliable and efficient operations across the organization. This position requires a proactive individual who can quickly assess issues, adapt to changing priorities, and deliver exceptional support in a dynamic engineering and manufacturing environment.
Onsite Requirement Position requires employees to be on‑site full‑time at the Concord, NC facility. The position can also require shift work to accommodate second or third shift work schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Provide first‑line technical support for desktop and laptop computers, printers, peripherals, and business applications.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network connectivity, and performance issues in a timely manner.
Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade desktop operating systems, applications, and endpoint security solutions.
Assist with the deployment of new devices, including imaging, configuration, asset tagging, and user onboarding.
Support end‑users with account access, password resets, multi‑factor authentication, and general IT requests.
Maintain accurate records of incidents, service requests, resolutions, and IT assets using ticketing and asset management systems.
Collaborate with IT team members to resolve complex issues and support infrastructure, security, and technology improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with company IT policies, standards, and security requirements.
Provide end‑user guidance on technology best practices, tools, and new systems.
Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree or industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) preferred.
2‑5 years of relevant IT support experience, preferably in a manufacturing, engineering, or motorsports environment.
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Solid understanding of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, and common business applications.
Experience supporting virtual environments using Hyper‑V or VMware.
Knowledge of Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune, Windows Autopilot, and multi‑factor authentication.
Familiarity with networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VPN, wireless networking, and endpoint connectivity troubleshooting.
Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to support users at all levels of the organization.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment with evolving business needs.
Self‑motivated, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning and professional growth.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA).
Experience supporting IT in manufacturing, engineering, or technology‑driven environments.
Experience supporting IT in motorsports or other high‑performance environments.
Knowledge of remote support tools, endpoint management platforms, and IT asset management systems.
