Summary of Position The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for generating revenue growth through proactive outbound engagement with marketing-qualified leads (MQLs). This role plays a critical part in the early stages of the sales cycle — identifying qualified prospects, nurturing relationships, and setting the stage for successful conversions. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who thrives on outbound outreach, values strategic follow-up, and enjoys uncovering opportunities to drive sales.
This position is also responsible for educating potential and existing customers on product offerings, identifying upselling opportunities, and collaborating closely with the sales and marketing teams to maximize lead-to-close conversion rates.
This role requires strong communication skills, a customer-centric mindset, and a passion for building relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead Engagement & Qualification:
Initiate timely and strategic outreach to marketing-qualified leads (e.g., sample requests, form fills) to generate interest and establish a sales dialogue.
Qualify leads based on need, readiness, and fit, and transition high-potential prospects to Account Executives or Sales Reps.
Execute a structured follow-up cadence via phone and email to ensure consistent communication and momentum in the sales funnel.
Identify and promote appropriate products and solutions to meet customer needs, with a focus on upselling and cross-selling.
Clearly communicate value propositions and product differentiators to influence purchasing decisions.
Promote new products, special offers, or initiatives to drive incremental sales.
Accurately record all prospect interactions and lead statuses in CRM to maintain data integrity and visibility across the team.
Monitor follow-up progress and pipeline health, ensuring leads do not stall or go cold.
Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Experience teams to refine messaging, improve targeting, and enhance lead conversion strategies.
Provide actionable customer feedback to inform sales campaigns, product development, and marketing initiatives.
Reporting & Metrics:
Track and report on outreach activity, conversion rates, and sales opportunity generation.
Analyze trends in customer responses to improve engagement tactics.
Required Skills and Qualifications Sales‑Oriented Mindset
Demonstrated ability to engage prospects, handle objections, and guide leads toward sales conversations.
Comfortable working toward performance targets, such as number of calls, conversions, and sales‑qualified leads (SQLs).
Communication Skills
Excellent verbal communication skills with confidence, persuasive, and professional tone.
Ability to quickly build rapport, uncover needs, and tailor messaging accordingly.
Organization & Time Management
Strong ability to manage a high volume of outbound calls and emails while maintaining organized records.
Skilled at prioritizing outreach activities to maximize impact.
Problem Solving & Adaptability
Proactive in finding solutions to customer hesitations or objections.
Able to adjust messaging based on customer personas, product offerings, or campaign priorities.
Technical Proficiency
Comfortable using CRM systems and digital sales tools.
Willing to learn new technologies and adapt to changing workflows.
